Meet Katherine.

Born in Gainesville, Georgia, Katherine received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Georgia in 2013. Now based in Charleston, Katherine’s work is imbued with all of the rich colors, textures and light of lush coastal scenes.

Using a distinctive brush style that calls on pointillism, the painted subjects seems to vibrate with unreleased movement. When combined with vibrant colors, Katherine’s work feels dream-like and charged with fantasty - creating a fascinating tension between what is “real” and how our memory transfigures this reality. Playing on our first-hand interactions with places, her paintings capture the emotional experience as clearly as a physical one.
