Meet Morgan.

Morgan Elvington Walker, studio name Melvin G, is a collage artist based in Florence, South Carolina. She received a BFA from Clemson University and while studying abroad took on the nickname Melvin G. Living in the tension between hyper-precision and wild whimsy, her creations imbue all the delights of childhood marbled papers and fantastical caricatures.

Her tongue-in-cheek references and use of delicate materials reflect a snapshot of her personal life - in which she watched her young daughter create with abandon and her father forced to use deliberate movements due to Parkinson’s disease. This duality of capriciousness and structure adds such depth to her creations, and makes the act of viewing them that much more meaningful and inviting.
